Why 10 Knee Surgeries

Oct 09, 2017

I'm 55.  I've had 10 knee surgeries.

It started with birth.  I was born with a condition called "discoid meniscus" that affects only 1 - 3% of Americans.  Instead of having a disc shaped meniscus in the lateral compartment of my knee, I had one that looked more like a hockey puck.  This in itself shouldn't be a problem, but on my left knee I also had a lump in it.  That meant when I tried to straighten my knee sometimes it would "ka-lunk" over the lump, and then lock; or it wouldn't make it over the lump and I'd fall down.  I fell down a lot as a kid.  My first knee surgery (of 7 on my left knee) was when I was just 13 years old.

I've had a lot of people ask me about how 10 knees surgeries are possible...so here is the story.
Find out the life changing news I received on my 2nd knee surgery at age 24...
